Overview
The School of Radiography is a 24-month JRC/ERT accredited program based at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital which prepares students both clinically and theoretically for a career in radiography.

A maximum of 12 students are accepted for the school term, which begins each September. At the conclusion of the program, a Certificate of Completion is given, and graduates are eligible to take the National Registry exam for certification.


Admission Requirements
  • Applicant must be 18 years of age by December 31 of the enrollment year.
  • A high school diploma or its equivalent plus 24 college credits are needed. See "Educational Requirements" document for required and suggested courses (link to downloadable pdf located on the left).
  • Minimum grades of C+ (2.5) or better in all major subjects and a GPA of 3.0 or 80% are essential. Our passing grade for courses in the program is a 3.0.
  • Eight hours of observation at an imaging facility is required.
  • High school and college transcripts – with attendance and SAT scores included.
  • Three (3) letters of reference must be submitted in sealed envelopes along with the application (from the following sources):
    - A science, math or English instructor
    - An employer (immediate supervisor)
    - An advisor (guidance or organizational)
    - Character reference (excluding family members)
  • Letter of Intent containing specific reasons for pursuing a career in radiology must also be submitted.
  • Application must be submitted by December 31 to be considered for the subsequent enrollment year.
  • A $10 non-refundable administrative fee must accompany the application.

The applicant will be contacted for a personal interview if all criteria meet the standards for acceptance. Applicants who do not meet the criteria will be notified in writing.
