OUR POINT OF VIEW ON THIS CRISIS:
The current statewide Malpractice Crisis represents a real danger to residents throughout Pennsylvania. Naturally, our primary concern is for the health care needs of those who live in the greater Wyoming Valley area. Wyoming Valley Health Care System was established and dedicated with this core proposition: To make sure that area residents have seamless access to high quality, affordable health care. When insurance costs become so prohibitive as to compel doctors to limit their practice or to end their local practice altogether, then we - as the leading health care resource in the region - must express our deepest concern in no uncertain terms. It is our sincere hope that the lawyers, the insurers, the regulating authorities and the doctors can come together and establish a basis for agreement that will effectively end this crisis and put quality health care back where it belongs - in our communities and always open to you and your loved ones.
Our community physicians are outstanding professionals, and we believe that they do a marvelous, tireless and sometimes thankless job of helping all of us to maintain or regain excellent health. Without our doctors, Wyoming Valley Health Care System cannot fulfill its health care promise to you. We all need our doctors. And we all need to do what we can to bring this crisis to a timely conclusion.
